Prevnar 20 (Pneumococcal Pneumonia) Vaccine

What is Prevnar 20?
Prevnar 20 is a pneumococcal conjugate vaccine. It does not contain live bacteria, so it cannot give you pneumococcal pneumonia. Conjugate vaccines pair proteins with small, inactive pieces of bacteria to train your immune system to recognize them. Prevnar 20 helps protect against 20 strains that can cause pneumococcal pneumonia.
Is Prevnar 20 right for me?
You may be at higher risk if you're 65+, or 19+ with certain chronic conditions (e.g., diabetes, kidney, lung, liver, or heart disease).
Prevnar 20 has been studied in adults with chronic conditions.
Even if you received another pneumonia vaccine before, ask Charlie or your doctor whether Prevnar 20 could add protection.
Good to know: Prevnar 20 is a one-time dose. You don't need it every year.
